Shot and Framed
The city has a very rich and varied past of art and culture.
Weve even had admirers of different art forms. And exploiting this trait of a true blue Lucknowite, Lalit Kala Academy organised its Seventh All India Photography Art Exhibition.
Within its red bricked walls we found the work of around eighty photographers. Khalid Khan, Debtosh Sengupta, Vijay Narayan Parelkar and Girish J Kinger, stood out among others and grabbed the honor.
The photos were not confined to one theme but were widely spread to nature, landscapes, daily life and human emotions.
People had mixed views about this exhibition, as a teacher of fine arts expressed, The exhibition though has beautiful photographs, we cannot sideline the fact that they have been shot from digital cameras. So more than the photographers its the cameras that have done the job. Agreeing to this was an artist Chanchal Sur Chaudhary.
Countering criticism was a photographer Amit Kalkar, who explained, In this generation using the old analogue cameras would mean a costly job and the picture quality too will not be that good.
Also spotted admiring the photographs were PC Little, Ravi Kapoor, Anil Risal Singh, Vipul Varshney and Umesh Kumar Saxena.
